In response to the persistent gender disparities in Africa’s healthcare innovationspace, IFPMA and Speak Up Africa, partners of the Africa Young Innovators for Health Award, launched the Women Innovators Incubator program. The initiative focuses on providing a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs to create and grow high-impact and sustainable solutions to Africa’s most pressing healthcare needs. Female applicants of the Award will be eligible for the programme. At the 4th edition of the Galien Forum Africa, IFPMA and Speak Up Africa unveiled Angella Kyomugisha, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Kaaro Health (Uganda), Nuriat Nambogo, Founder and CEO, MobiCare (Uganda); and Marie Chantal Umunyana, Founder and CEO, Umubyeyi (Rwanda) as the first participants on the Women Innovators Incubator. The participants receive financial support, a business mentorship programme, media training, expert advice on Intellectual Property protection, and access to a network of supporters and partners working across digital, healthcare, and media.
