Abraham Palache
Influenza vaccines expert
Dr Abraham Palache is founder of FluPal Consultancy BV, a private company that provides expertise and services to Abbott, among others, in the field of influenza and influenza vaccinology. He’s co-founder of the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI), a founding member of IFPMA’s Influenza Vaccine Supply International Task Force (IVS) where since 2004 he chairs the Policy Practice and Communication subgroup (PPC) of this group. He is also a member of the External Affairs Working Group of the Association of the European Vaccine Manufacturers (EVM). In 2006, he joined the Asia-Pacific Advisory Committee on Influenza (APACI) group as an industry representative. He served for more than 40 years Abbott Biologicals as Clinical Research Project leader, Director of Public Affairs for influenza and Global Government Affairs Director for Vaccines.
Cecil B. Wilson
Past President World Medical Association and American Medical Association
Dr Cecil B. Wilson, MD internist from Winter Park, Florida, USA, is the Past President of the World Medical Association (WMA) October 2013. He served as President of the World Medical Association October 2012-2013. Dr. Wilson is Chair of the American Medical Association delegation to the WMA. He has served as a member of the WMA committees on Medical Ethics, Finance and Planning and Socio-Medical Affairs.
In addition Dr. Wilson has served for the past four years as a private sector advisor to the United States Delegation to the World Health Assembly at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva.
Dr. Wilson served as the 165th president of the American Medical Association from June 2010 to June 2011. He has been a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) Board of Trustees (BOT) since 2002 and served as chair of the AMA-BOT from 2006 to 2007. Dr. Wilson has also been a member of the AMA House of Delegates since 1992, and served two terms as a member of the AMA Council on Constitution and Bylaws.
Dr. Wilson is currently a national fellow and advisor for the Center for Global Health and Medical Diplomacy at the University of North Florida, and a clinical professor in health administration in the Brooks College of Health at the university.
Dr. Wilson and his wife, Betty Jane, past president of the FMA Alliance, have two sons, a daughter and three grandchildren.
